Lunar New Year Celebration

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Snake, the Queens Zoo is offering a special weekend event inside the Discovery Center. Crafts, storytelling, and animal encounters with our boa constrictor and black rat snake will be part of the fun.

Zoo education staff will tell snake-themed stories at 1:00, 2:15, and 3:00 p.m. each day. We'll also offer fun facts about snakes and other animals of the Asian zodiac. The first 100 children each day will receive a traditional red envelope surprise, and all participants can warm up with some tea or hot chocolate.
